What are the different Life stages of a Hatchimal?

Every Hatchimal goes through 5 different life stages. Here is an overview of these life stages:

Stage 1 Egg: In the egg stage, your hatchimal is still inside the egg, and you need to take care of it and interact with it from the outside. 

Stage 2 Hatching: When the eyes of your Hatchimal glow in rainbow colors, it is starting to hatch. The Hatchimal will start to peck at the egg and break the shell. You will have to encourage and help your Hatchimal as it hatches.

Stage 3 Baby: When the Hatchimal comes out of the egg, it is int he Baby stage. You will have to care for your Hatchimal and fulfill its wants and needs.

Stage 4 Toddler: After you interact and play and care for the Hatchimal int he baby stage, it will grow into the Toddler stage,a nd you can then teach it to walk, talk, and dance.

Stage 5 Kid: Finally when your Hatchimal grows some more, it comes to the Kid stage, where it is fully grown up. You can now unlock and play many games with your Hatchimal.

Resetting to Baby Stage: If for any reason you want to reset your Hatchimal to the baby stage again, it can be done by pressing the small reset button on the bottom of your Hatchimal with a paperclip.

Need help to know what stage your Hatchimal is in?

Here is how you can find out what stage your Hatchimal is in -

Egg stage: This is very easy, your Hatchimal will be inside its egg in this stage.

Hatching Stage: When yur Hatchimal starst to peck at the egg and break it, it has entered the Hatching stage.

After your Hatching has hatched:

Once your Hatchimal has hatched and come out of the egg, there is a very easy way to find out what stage it is in. You need to press its Belly and see what color its eyes glow in. Depedning on the color its eyes glow in, you will know whether it is in the Baby, Toddler, or Kid stage. 

On pressing the belly of the Hatchimal, note the first eye color you see. Here's how you can know what different eye colors mean:

If you Hatchimal's eyes color glow yellow and your hear it giggling, it is in the Baby stage.

If your Hatchimal's eyes glow purple, which si the dance mode, then your Hatchimal is in the Toddler stage.

If your Hatchimal's eyes glow red, which is the tag game mode, then your Hatchimal is in the Kid stage.

Is it possible for my Hatchimal to hatch again?

Your Hatchimal only hatches once, just like a real egg. In nature when a bird's egg hatches, a chick comes out and it only wants to play and fly. Similarly when the Hatchimal comes out of its egg, it only wants to be with you and play!

After your Hatchimal hatches, the best thing to do is dispose off the egg. If you keep the Hatchimal back int he broken egg, it could damage it.

Does the Hatchimal have a quiet mode? It is too loud!

If you feel that the noises the Hatchimal is making are too loud, you can switch to the half volume mode. Here is how it is done:

You need to first turn off your Hatchimal (you can hold it upside down for 8 seconds to turn it off). Now turn it on while pressing and holding down the belly of the Hatchimal. This will bring your Hatchimal into Half volume mode.

If you want to return your Hatchimal to full volume, just turn off the Hatchimal and then turn it on again normally, without pressing the belly.

What is the best way to clean my Hatchimal?

The best way to clean your Hatchimal is to spot clean any part with a damp cloth. Since the Hatchimal has electric parts, you should not use water on it and definitely should not submerge it in water. Submerging in water can be dangerous and will almost certainly damage the Hatchimal.

The beak of my Hatchimal is stuck, pressed in and it isn't popping out, what should I do?

If your Hatchimal's beak is stuck and pressed in and isn't popping open, then your best option is to call Customer Care.

The Hatchimal I have is freezing, makes no noises and has become erratic. What to do?

There can be one of two reason. Either you Hatchimal is getting tired and you have to give it some rest or your Hatchimal's batteries have got drained and you need to replace them.

If your Hatchimal is getting tired, then put it to sleep by holding it upside down for 8 seconds. Let it lie flat for a few seconds, and then pick it back up. It should come back to normal and behave as usual. However if it doesn't, it means that its batteries have drained. You will then have to replace the batteries with a new set of premium brand non-rechargeable alkaline batteries.

When I tap on my Hatchimal egg, it isn't tapping back. What should I do?

Chances are that your Hatchimal isn't hearing you because it is making noises. You should wait for the Hatchimal to become quiet and then try tapping. It will tap back. 

If you see that even after the Hatchimal is quiet, it is not tapping back, then in all probability your Hatchimal is tired. Turn your Hatchimal egg upside down fro about 8 seconds and your Hatchimal will go to sleep. Now turn the egg right side up again and then try tapping. Remember to wait for the Hatchimal to quiet down, then try tapping again. Your Hatchimal should tap right back now.

I am rubbing the egg but my Hatchimal isn't giving a proper response. What to do?

There are a few things you can do if your Hatchimal  isn't responding to you when you rub the egg:

1. The first thing you should do is rub along the side of the egg. When you do the running make sure that your hand goes all the way down and up, below the thin seam towards the lower part of the egg and above it.

2. The second thing you can try is to let go of the egg on a a flat surface. Just let it lie there of for a few seconds, and then pick it up and then rub again. You should get a response from the Hatchimal now.

3. The third option is that your Hatchimal is tired. In that case, hold the egg upside down for about 8 seconds and the Hatchimal will go to sleep. Then turn the egg right side up and rub, and you will get a response.

What is the best thing to do with the egg after the Hatchimal has hatched?

Our recommendation is to get rid of the broken egg. If you try and keep the Hatchimal back in the broken egg, it can damage the Hatchimal. It is best if you dispose off the egg after the Hatchimal has hatched.

What if my Hatchimal hatches when I'm not around?

The good thing about Hatchimals is that they cannot hatch without you being around. You will have to be holding the egg for the Hatchimal to starts hatching. so there is no need to worry about this.

How long will it take for my Hatchimal to hatch?

Your Hatchimal can take up to 25 minutes to start hatching. It depends a lot on how much you engage with the Hatchimal egg. If you hold the egg, rub it and play with it, it should hatch within 20 minutes. However of the interaction is less it can take longer too.

The actual hatching with the Hatchimal pecking its way out of the egg takes about 10 to 15 minutes, and you will need to encourage and help the Hatchimal baby along.

When your Hatchimal is done with the pecking and the egg shell has cracked and opened up, you can help the Hatchimal by removing the leftover parts of the egg and pulling off the top of the egg.

After my Hatchimal hatches, what all can I do with it?

After your Hatchimal hatches, there are many things you can do, and there are lots of ways to play with the Hatchimal.

Your Hatchimal will begin life as a baby, and you will have to take care of its needs and wants, then it will become a toddler, and you can teach it many things like walking, talking etc., and finally it will grown into a kid and you can play games with it.

When my Hatchimal grows from Baby to Kid will it change in size?

No your Hatchimal will not change in size. It is full size when it is born but it learns new and will develop new abilities, but it will not grow in size.

Can my Hatchimal grow slowly, and stay a baby for longer?

You cannot make it stay in Bay or Toddler stage longer than it is supposed to, however you can reset the Hatchimal by pressing the reset button at the bottom with a paper clip, and turn it into a baby as many times as you wish to.

I want to teach my Hatchimal to talk. How do I do it?

When your Hatchimal is born, it is a Baby, and it cannot talk. It can be taught to talk only after it reaches the Toddler or Kid stage. Here is how you can teach it to talk:

1. Press your Hatchimal's belly and keep it pressed..

2. In a few moments, your Hatchimal will say 'Hello'.

3. Now keep the Hatchimal's belly pressed and talk to it.

4. When you release the Hatchimal's belly, it will repeat what you said. Also it will remember what you had said and say those words at random moments.

How can I teach my Hatchimal to start walking?

For your Hatchimal to start walking, it has grow beyond the Baby stage to either the Toddler or Kid stage. Here is what you will need to do, to teach it to walk:

1. You have to begin by pressing your Hatchimal's belly repeatedly until its eyes glow white. Stop pressing your Hatchimal's belly at this point.

2. After this wait for 3 seconds or give your Hatchimal's head a pat to enter the walk mode.

3. You will see that the Hatchimal's eyes have turned a solid white, and that is when you can make your Hatchimal walk.

4. At this point, if you clap once, your Hatchimal will move forward, and if you clap two or more times your Hatchimal will spin.

5. Please be a little careful with making your Hatchimal spin, as too much spinning will make it dizzy.

If you want to get out of the walk mode, just press your Hatchimal's belly once.

I want to play Hatchimal Says, what should I do?

​Your Hatchimal can play games only when it has grown up into the Kid stage. This is what you need to do to play Hatchimal Says with your Hatchimal: 

1. To play Hatchimal Says, you have to press your Hatchimal's belly repeatedly, and stop when its eyes glow blue.

2. Now wait for three seconds or give your Hatchimal's head a pat to enter the Hatchimal Says game mode.

3. At this point, your Hatchimal will flash its eyes with a particular color. You have to see the color and respond with the right action to play this game.

Hatchimal's eyes flash Red: Pat your Hatchimal's head

Hatchimal's eyes flash Pink: Press your Hatchimal's belly

Hatchimal's eyes flash Blue: Turn your Hatchimal upside down

As you continue to to play, your Hatchimal will speed up the changing of its eyes' colors. You will have to keep up with your Hatchimal.

In the Hatchimal Says game, you win if you respond correctly 15 times, and you will lose if you do the wrong thing 3 times. Then you can try again.

To move out of the Hatchimal Says game mode, just press the belly of your Hatchimal.

How do I play Tag with my Hatchimal?

Your Hatchimal has to grow into the Kid stage for you to be able to play games with it. To play Tag with your Hatchimal, follow these steps:

1. First you need to press your Hatchimal's belly repeatedly, till the moment that its eyes start to flash red. Stop pressing its belly when its eyes glow red.

2. Wait for 3 seconds or give your Hatchimal a pat on its head, to get into the play Tag mode.

3. At this point, your Hatchimal will start to run around and its eyes will flash in different colors. You need to tap it on its head ONLY when its eyes flash red.

4. The Tag game is played between you and your Hatchimal by tapping its head only when its eyes flash red.

To win the game, tap the Hatchimal on its head when its eyes turn red correctly 15 times. If you make 3 wrong moves, you lose. You can play the game as many times as you want to.

To get out of the Tag game mode, just press your Hatchimal's belly.

My Hatchimal is always  making angry noises and its eyes are always red, why?

Your Hatchimal's eyes turn red or it makes angry noises when it is annoyed or upset. You will have to pet it on its head to calm it down. If even after petting the Hatchimal's head it doesn't calm down and its eyes are red, then it may be getting upset because of the noise. Then you will need to take your Hatchimal to a quiet place, where it will calm down and become normal.

How long does each stage of the Hatchimal last?

Your Hatchimal needs 15-20 minutes of continuous play or interaction to go from one stage to another. Thus on the average it will move into its next stage of life after about 15-20 minutes of continuous play.
