Season 1 of the Hatchimals Colleggtibles was launched on first of May 2016, and became an instant hit with kids. These tiny versions of the original Hatchimals which also hatch from an egg are available in a mindboggling variety. Another great thing about Hatchimals Colleggtibles is that they are always a surprise. The Colleggtibles are available in blind bags, and you really don’t know what Colleggtible Hatchimal you are going to get until you hatch the egg or eggs inside.

Colleggtibles Season 2 Egg with purple heart and wavy line for removing egg shell and making nest

Children simply love them for their multi level surprise element, their collectability and the opportunities they create to play with other children, by exchanging and building their collections. The Hatchimal 1 pack Collectible comes in a blind bag inside which you will find one egg. You will see coloured speckles on the egg which will help you guess which family the Hatchimal Colleggtible is from. The original Hatchimals are much larger and the egg needed to be played with, rubbed and engaged with and even talked to, before the Hatchimal would hatch.

All 72 Hatchimals Colleggtibles Season 1

The Colleggtibles also require some engagement to hatch. Towards the front of every little egg is a purple heart, you need to rub it till it turns pink. When the heart turns pink, the Colleggtible is ready to hatch. At this point you will need to crack the egg and remove the egg covering.

hatchimals-colleggtibles-season-1-hatching-eggs-toys-bearakeet-target-exclusive-4-pack-review

To break the egg you need to press down on top of the heart and crack the egg. Then you have to remove the shell. When you peel off the egg, you have to peel it right up to the wavy line near the bottom and turn it into a nest for the Colleggtible. You have to look a little carefully for the wavy line. Once the egg has been peeled till the wavy line, you have a nice cute little nest for the hatchimal Colleggtible.

The original Hatchimals were no more than 15 to 20 in number, but the new Hatchimal Colleggtibles are over 70 in number. These are part of the Season 1 of Colleggtibles, and as Season 2 of Colleggtibles comes out we are going to have many more.

The Hatchimals Colleggtibles are a mixed lot with all kinds of creatures from whales to zebras to kittens to unique and cute hybrid creatures. The nice thing is that each one of them has a pair of glittery wings. Along with being incredibly cute, these are the right size for being a collectible. Another great thing for parents of young children is that they are not at all expensive. In fact one Colleggtible is just about one tenth the price of the original Hatchimals. They can in fact be purchased with a child's pocket money.

The surprise of finding out what will come out, the hatching and the collecting all add up to a great experience for kids everywhere. What makes them even more interesting is that these Hatchimal Colleggtibles come from several different families which stay in different kinds of environments, from the water to the beach to the grasslands to the clouds. There are many different families to which these Hatchimal Collectibles belong. Each family lives in a different environment.

Hatchimals Colleggtibles playset review

The base unit for Colleggtibles is one egg in a blind bag, but you also get them in packs of 4 eggs with one bonus egg and in packs of two eggs with an additional nest in it. With Colleggtibles Season 2 some more additions are on way.

The Colleggtible Hatchimals are also ranked in terms of rarity, with common, rare, ultra rare and limited edition Colleggtibles. When a Colleggtiblel egg hatches you may end up with a rare Hatchimal Colleggtible or a common one, you never know. The surprise element of finding a Hatchimal Colleggtible that is rare is also an additional joy for kids.

These amazing Hatchimals Collectibles are definitely going to be the hottest toys this Christmas along with the Hatchimals Surprise that are going to be here soon. The original Hatchimals was the most popular toy for children in 2016.

The Colleggtibles have a story and background to them. Essentially there cute lovable creatures with glittery wings live in a magical world called Hatchopia. This magical place has many smaller places in them where all the different Colleggtible families live. There are places like Polar Paradise, Friendship Farm, Breezy Beach, Cloud Cove, Lilac Lake, Giggle Grove, Glittering Garden and several more.

Since the Colleggtible that comes out of an egg is a surprise, there can be surplus Colleggtible Hatchimals with someone and that is where they can be exchanged with others to build your complete collection. Your child may even see that the speckles of the egg are of a color whose Collegtibles he or she already has and can actually exchange unopened eggs with other too.

Having Colleggtibles from different families is exciting and then getting to know that each individual Colleggtible has a distinct personality is even more fun. You can find out all about the characteristics and personality of a Hatchimal Colleggtible from the Hatchimals Colleggtibles website.

These cute and adorable animal characters with wings are a great source of fun and hours of playing for children. Another positive thing about them for parents is that children will not just play with them alone, they will love to play with their friends. The exchanging and whole collection ensures that they will play with others and try to complete their won collections.

The hatchimals Colleggtibles have a total of 13 families that live in Hatchopia. And to bring these magical fantasy creatures alive there is now a Colleggtibles App for iOS and Android through which you can not only explore the entire Hatchopia world, find out about every kind of Colleggtible, but also play games in different areas.

The Colleggtibles app starts with the player hatching and egg, then you have to feed and take care of the colleggtible that comes out. As you collect points, you can go and play games in different parts of the Hatchopia world. There is a game in Cloud Cove where the Colleggtibel has to bounce over clouds. There is a Collector’s List which tells you about each and every Colleggtible available.

In the Colleggtibles, as you play, you collect blue and pink feathers and stars, and depending on how many you have collected, you can hatch the eggs of specific Collegtibles. As you keep playing and using the App you also open up new games and places.

Since the Collector’s List tells you about each Hatchimal Colleggtible that is available, you can select the ones that you already have and then find out all about them. You can even have a virtual Colleggtible in the app that you hatch and take care of, and the same one in real life. That becomes doubly exciting for the kids.

The app opens to a map of Hatchopia with all the different areas where the Hatchimal Colleggtibles live.

How Hatchimals Work

burtle-purple-bearakeet-black-penguala-owlicorn-draggle-hatchimals-toy-best-christmas-toy-top-10-christmas-toys-play-teaching-raising

One of the latest crazes sweeping the globe is Hatchimals. Doesn’t the word itself conjure images of something cute, fuzzy and absolutely adorable? These are exactly what they are – little robot toys that actually hatch out of an egg (a plastic one that is). To actually grow your own toy through various stages (egg, hatchling, baby, toddler, and kid) is an awesome feeling. And to add to the excitement, one does not know what to expect as there is no indication which toy will be inside the egg. The child (and I am assuming child here) has to rub, tap and pat the egg for the action to begin. So how exactly does a Hatchimal open? Let’s find out, shall we?

How to Open a Hatchimal

The mystery toy comes safely ensconced in a fairly large plastic egg, about a third larger if it is a Hatchimal Surprise (that has two toys in it). In order to get the toy, the egg has to be lovingly rubbed and patted. The animal inside will react to all the loving and giving by gurgling, squealing and squawks and lights up. But beware, if your attention should flag, the egg can sense it and the hatching process will slow down.  At this stage, you will need to see rainbow colored lights to show that the hatching process is complete. Any other color means you will have to take further care of the egg. These colors are the colors of the eyes of the Hatchimal that you can see once the hatching is complete. If the lights flash red, for example, it means the egg is annoyed or upset and the egg will have to be rubbed at the bottom. Here is a guide on what to do when the lights change color.

Once all is well and you have rubbed the egg to its satisfaction, the shell will slowly crack open and out comes the baby Hatchimal, a little bundle of fuzz and big goggle eyes! The hatching process will take anywhere from 7 minutes to 20 minutes, depending on how well you take care of the egg. From here on, you will have to nurture and grow the Hatchimal to the next stage to toddler and then kid. With each new stage, the things it can do increase ad there are small physical changes. However, remember that all growth comes to a stop if you don’t spend time with the little one!

owlicorn-blue-bearakeet-black-penguala-draggle-burtle-hatchimals-toy-best-christmas-toy-top-10-christmas-toys-play-teaching-raising

The Hatchimal is quite amazing, it will repeat anything you say, allowing you to teach it to talk. You can also teach your Hatchimals to dance, walk, spin, make silly sounds and respond to questions with a yes or no. Without doubt the Hatchimals can keep one busy and engaged for hours and hours, making it one of the most popular toys in the world today.

That's because the eggs don't contain one but two Hatchimals, and they are absolutely new Hatchimals species. That is why the new Hatchimals eggs are much bigger than the older ones. They have a different hatching process and the Hatchimals inside will peck their way out of the top of the egg. When you take out the first one, you will have to look into the egg and pull out its twin too! isn't that super exciting! The new Hatchimals of Hatchimals Surprise are different from the original ones, and they can do some new things too. Here is a comparison of the Hatchimal Surprise egg and the Hatchimals egg and the Colleggtibles egg.

So, it's out, the two Hatchimals Surprise. And now you don't get one, but two Hatchimals from every egg - isn't that double-hatchi-fantastic! The twin Hatchimals are slightly different in nature and actually play with each other if left facing each other. One of the twins will repeat what you tell it, the other one will dance and play with you. If you place both the Hatchimals facing each other, they will play with each other (that's what twins do isn't it!). If they are facing each other they will play games with each other, and also have dance parties, and they will also chuckle and giggle (Isn't that cute), and do other things too.

We have made some exciting unboxing and hatching and playing videos of the Hatchimals Surprise. Have a look at the page contents above, and you can go straight to the section you want to read about. There is a lot of information on the Hatchimals Surprise on this page, have a look around and you may learn something you didn't know.

Since the Hatchimals Surprise new season Hatchimals are all new species, we have also put together e comprehensive guide of all the types of Hatchimals Surprise species available now. As expected the new species are even better than the previous ones. They are furry like real animals and be more real in many ways.

Hatchimals Surprise - What is it?

Hatchimals are the incredibly popular and cute toys made by Spinmaster that hatch out of eggs, and were all the rage last Christmas. This year in October Spinmaster launched Hatchimals Surprise. The surprise was that in each Hatchimals Surprise egg, you find not one but two Hatchimals. Each egg hatches twin Hatchimals.

The Hatchimals Surprise egg is larger than the original Hatchmals egg, and surprisingly it costs less on Amazon than the original Hatchimals. The Hatchimals Surprise twins cost around $68 while the Hatchimals cost around $72. This price is not updated so have a look at the buying options below to get the latest prices.

Here is a video of the Hatchimals Surprise Pack - have a look at it from all angles!

If you (or your kid) already own the original Hatchimals then you may think that the Hatchimals Surprise will be more of the same thing, but you will be wrong if you assume that. The twins are actually two very different Hatchimals in themselves. One of the twins is very talkative and one likes to dance around a lot. They have very different personalities, and they play with each other too. Just like the original Hatchimals, they have to be reared from baby to toddler to kid, and new games and interactive abilities emerge as they grow to the next level.

The hatching process is a little different as the top Hatchimals pecks its way out of the top of the egg, and then the surprise Hatchimal has to be pulled out from inside the egg. The Hatchimals Surprise egg has to be held, talked to and cuddled before the Hatchimal twins hatch.

Hatchimals Surprise - Unboxing video - 9 year old gets scared

The whole process of unboxing the new Hatchimals Surprise is full of excitement for kids. In fact the excitement begins from the moment they see the beautiful Hatchimals packaging. The rounded egg on top and the colorful packaging showing twins peeking out of an egg.

This is a wonderful unboxing video when the brand new Hatchimals Surprise was presented to them just a few days after the October 6th launch of the Hatchimals Surprise by Spinmaster. Just watch for the little girl who feels scared when the Hatchimals inside move. She thought that it was a real living thing and was quite scared – isn’t that cute.

Enjoy the unboxing video.

Hatchimals Surprise - How to hatch?

The actual hatching process isn’t very different from the hatching process of the original Hatchimals. The egg is much larger and as soon as you remove it from the packaging, which involves unlocking two plastic locks that actually activate the hatching process, the Hatchimals inside start to make some noises.

hatchimals-surprise-how-to-play

As you hold the egg and cuddle it, you will notice some movement inside. Then you will see some lights inside, which is the glowing eyes of the Hatchimals. After about fifteen to twenty minutes the colors inside turn rainbow, and then the egg is ready to hatch. The Hatchimals start to crack open the egg from the top, and soon you will be able to peel off the top of the egg and see your first Hatchimals twin. Just pull out the first Hatchimals twin, and then pull out the second one underneath it.

hatchimals-surprise-inside-egg-hatched

The important thing is to set expectations with the child, that it will take about twenty minutes to half an hour for the egg to hatch. That way they won’t go nuts asking you when it will hatch. The child has to be told that they have to hold the egg, cuddle it and rub it and engage with it for the Hatchimals Surprise to hatch.

The kids get excited the moment the Hatchimals inside start to vibrate and make cute funny noises. There are ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ and in some cases fearful yells, if they get worried that an actual animal will hatch out, as happened with a 9 year old, that you will be able to see in the video in the next section!!

hatchimals-surprise-instructions-guide-leaflet

Hatchimals Suprise - Hatching video

Here is a hatching video, you can feel the excitement as the twins hatch and come out of the egg. This is so exciting for the little ones. Well after the Hatchimals hatched they became instant fans and spent every waking moment playing with them.

Here is the hatching video, and if you notice you will see that the egg had got a crack in the middle from before. That may have happened during the shipping or while it was being excitedly unpacked by the little ones.

Regardless, have a look at the Hatchimals Surprise hatching.

How the Hatchimals Surprise twins are different?

There are two Hatchimals that come out of each Hatchimals Surprise egg, and they are twins, but very different twins. One of them is talkative and the other dances a lot. As they move from one stage to another, one of them is able to talk back what you say to it, and the other is dancing almost all the time. The twins like to play with each other, and if you place them face to face they start swaying and dancing and talking in a very cute way.

How to play with the Hatchimals Surprise twins?

When the Hatchimals first hatch then you will be at a loss as to what to do with them for some time, as at every opportunity they will become sad and need cuddling or holding, and also they will become ill and you will have to nurse them. After all they are babies. As you play with the Hatchimals, you will need to keep referring to the eye color chart for what to do with them to make them happy and cheerful.

hatchimals-surprise-twins-playing-happy-mood

The new thing about Hatchimals surprise is that you have different instructions for different twins. As for how to play with the Hatchimals, a lot more is coming very soon, so stay tuned.

How to identify the Hatchimals Surprise twins

The two Hatchimals Surprise twins are quite different in personality but almost exactly the same in appearance. This makes it very difficult to make out which one is which. Of course there are very easy ways to identify which twin is which – when you look under the hatchimals, on the plastic portion of the bottom of the Hatchimals you will see an ‘A’ and a ‘B” embossed on them. Another major difference is in the weight and the type of battery case they have. One Hatchimal has two AA batteries, while the other has three LR44 button cells. You will think that the twin with the smaller button cells will be lighter but it is actually the opposite. The one with the LR44 buttons is the heavier of the two and is the one that is very talkative. The other one is lighter and it in fact sways when you make it stand. This one is dancing and swaying all the time.

Conclusion

The Nintendo Switch has shaken up the gaming consoles market with its fantastic form factor innovation. ‘Form factor’ sounds cool right? It just means the design and construct of the hardware of this console.

Switch is different – wonderfully different

So, the biggest difference between the Nintendo Switch and all other gaming consoles like the PS4, Xbox One and others, is that the Nintendo Switch can be used as a hand held gaming device, a full fledged gaming console connected to your HD TV and it’s controllers can be used connected to the display as a integrated portable gaming console, separate from it in two parts and as a regular composite wireless controller.

That, is a lot of options.

Big advantage of the Nintendo Switch

Which brings us to the big advantage of the Nintendo Switch. You can play at home on your TV as a home console, on the move, while lying in bed, anywhere. You can start playing Legend of Zelda at home on your TV, then take the portable setup with you and play on the way to work. You can slip it into your pocket, and play it during break in school or at work, and all through you will be playing the same game.

Nintendo Switch – the experience

What has made the Nintendo Switch such a monster hit? Why has Nintendo Switch become the highest selling gaming console this Christmas? The reason is its unique evolution of the hardware into a full fledged home console cum portable all in one gaming station. And all without losing any computing power or compromising on graphics or anything else at all. The Nintendo Switch has taken a leap in gaming consoles, and a leap that the other big boys cannot easily emulate.

The ease with which you can play on the Nintendo Switch no matter where you are or what you are doing, is absolutely mind blowing.

Let’s take a tour of how you feel when you use the Switch.

What’s in the box

nintendo-switch-best-deals-top-10

In the Nintendo Switch box you get a lot of separate components, which you will need to use it as a handheld gaming console, a table top console and a home console connected to your TV.

The main Nintendo Switch console is like an enhanced tablet. By itself it has everything in it from ports to slots to power switch to well whatever you need. To make it a complete playable hand held console with controllers on both sides, you need to connect the two detachable controllers.

All you have to do is slide them into place from the top, and you are ready to game on the go. To play it like a home console on a TV, the box also contains a console grip on which the two detachable consoles can be connected and turned into a traditional gamepad controller.

To convert the two side controllers into individual controllers, there are two straps that attach to them and then become individual controllers.

There you have it, every possible way to configure the Nintendo Switch is at your disposal.

Of course you also have the power cable and the HDMI connector for the TV. The power cable is a USB Type C cable, and you cannot detach it, so you have to use it as is.

What is the actual feel of gameplay

Portable Switch

When you attach the game pads to the Nintendo main console and turn it into a portable gaming device, the controls are flawless. The left split controller is for the direction your player moves in and the right one is for the camera angle. And then you have the usual four buttons on both slit controller pads.

Home Console Switch

When you connect the two split pads into the grip to convert it into a conventional game pad, then the play experience is excellent. If you go too far out of direction from the main console in its dock then there are some issues, but that is expected.

Two Controllers Switch

When you attach the straps to the two split controllers, and then use than as individual game pads, then you can do a lot more. The connectivity is good and it also enables the two players to engage with each other in interesting ways. For example there is a cowboy gunfight where the fastest drawer wins, and you can aim the controllers and shoot each other by pressing the shoot keys. The slight problem is that the buttons have different marking on both sides, also the placement of the analogue sticks becomes slightly uncomfortable on the right side. Attaching the straps gives two more buttons on the shoulders of the two gamepads which are a little difficult to use. However, overall they are great and if a friend is over, they will do a great job of letting the both of you play together.

Tabletop Switch

If you want to keep the Switch on a table or any solid surface, just pull out its kickstand and prop it up. Then you can use the Joy-Con composite gamepad or separate side gamepads and engage with the Switch. The table top mode works very well if you don't want to connect to the TV, but want a separate controller while you play on the main console screen.

One of the key games right now is the Legend of Zelda, and the graphics, effects and over all gameplay is fabulous. It is a visually very rich game and playing it on the Nintendo Switch as a portable console, home console or table top is just great.

So in effect the actual game play experience is great in every mode. The only slight drawback is that the kick stand for table top play is on one side and will only enable the Switch to stand when on a stable plain surface. You cannot make it stand with the kick stand alone on your bed.

Special Mention HD Rumble

HD Rumble is what Nintendo is calling the vibrational effects on the Joy-Con gamepads. This new technology allows for quite a rich sensory experience with the vibrations, sensations and shocks in the gamepads. HD Rumble in fact is refined and rich in sensations that there is a game where just by moving the gamepads in your hand, you need to guess how many balls are inside them. This HD Rumble has immense potential and will be a huge plus during gameplay.

To add to that the feel of the small round buttons is also quite good, as is the analogue directional sticks.

Cons of the Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch is fantastic, but there are some drawbacks. We will list them all out simply.

As individual gamepads, the left and right halves of the Joy Cons are not totally intuitive and cannot be used for long periods of time.

The kick stand is not great when the surface isn’t absolutely stable and hard.

The composite Joy-Con with the two halves attached is a great gamepad controller, but needs charging on the dock, so it has to be separated and charged.

Old Nintendo games will not play on the Switch. Talking of the old Nintendo games, if you are interested there are some great Nintendo Wii u Black Friday deals to explore too.

The battery life of the handheld consoles is not more than 3 and a half hours for graphics heavy games like Legend of Zelda.

Conclusion

We feel that you should go ahead and but the Nintendo Switch. It may not be absolutely perfect, but the whole convenience of carrying your home console game with you when you are travelling, or when you are out of home, is amazing.

The way the Nintendo Switch changes modes from handheld to table top to home console is brilliant. As a console it matches up to the best, the gameplay experience is very good and the games are great.

There are very few reason not to buy a Nintendo Switch this Christmas.

Luvabella Doll Definitive Guide

Luvabella will surprise you with her life like reactions, talk and movements. Made by the same people who created Hatchimals, Luvabella is one of the most popular toys for Christmas. It is flying off the shelves really fast as Christmas approaches, and you need to move very fast if you want to get one for your child. Not only does the Luvabella doll slowly learn to talk, she also has facial expressions and reactions to go with the situation. When you bring Lovabella home, you will be surprised by how life like the doll is. Luvabella is for children aged 4 and above, and believe us, almost every home with children in that age group will be trying to buy a Luvabella Doll, so act fast.

The great part about these life-like baby dolls is that they learn as you play with them. The more you play with Lovebella, the more words she will learn. Lovebella will start with only baby babbling, but as you play and talk to her, she will pick up over 100 words and phrases.

Of course you also have a whole set of interactive accessories that come with Lovebella. These accessories are not just for show, but will make Lovebella react in a certain manner for each accessory. Lovebella will eat, play and feel soothed by her plaything. The interactive accessories include a Lamby toy that soothes her and makes her happy, a spoon to feed her, a bottle and a pacifier. They will give your child a very natural and realistic experience with Lovebella as your child burps the baby, plays with it and feeds her.

Luvabella Doll - the best baby doll for little girls

There are two ways to look at the Luvabella doll - the first is from the perspective of an adult buying it for your child. The second is from the perspective of a little girl who wants to play with the Luvabella doll.

The two perspectives are very different. As a parent you will look at what the doll does, what it will teach your child, is it appropriate, why it is so life like and does that make it weird... etc. After seeing videos and indeed seeing the real doll in action, some parents may feel that it is just too life like, since Luvabella can react to voice, light and darkness with expressions and words and sounds, and can move her eyes etc. The skin on her face is also very soft and life like. Luvabella also gets tired yawns and needs to be fed and lulled to sleep with a pacifier. You can also burp her after she has fed. Being a mother you could start thinking that this is a bit much.

Now, lets look at it from the perspective of a little girl. She wants to baby a baby doll, and Luvabella is everything that one could wish for in taking care of an infant. The doll will teach the child everything about how to care for a little baby. Since Luvabella is so life like, and also learns and grows like a real baby, your child will be far more engrossed and involved with it and for a much longer time. She might even develop an attachment with it and want to take good care of the doll. It will probably be the most exciting experience for her, when it comes to having a baby doll of her own. What we ask is wrong with that? Is she learning anything that is not right? Is she not learning how to care for another? Isn't her caring and loving side coming to the fore? Then how can you as a parent decide that the Luvabella doll is too life like or realistic. We feel that Luvabella is a fabulous gift for your child.

We personally know of a six year old girl who is absolutely and completely in love with Luvabella. She cares for her baby, makes her sleep, feeds her, teaches her words and mothers her the best way she can. She has even asked her own mother to get her more accessories for her Luvabella doll. She got a Luvabella diaper bag, with more things to make her baby doll feel better. Diaper changes, powders and other things for when they are going out. This is a wonderful gift for your child or grand child. The little one will love Luvabella to bits and also take wonderful care of the doll.
