eFoil – a surfbroad that can fly over water at 25 mph

FLYING SURFBOARD - everyone can fly on water now!

It is called the Lift eFoil and it has been created by the Puerto Rican company Lift which is into making user-friendly hydrofoils. This amazing eFoil is powered by an electric motor and controlled by a Bluetooth hand controller, and has a hydrodynamic torpedo design. It also offers interchangeable wings for changing the way the eFoil moves.

It is projected to cost $12,000 when it comes out in the market later in the year. You can already pre-order it on the Lift website here.

The eFoil has very good stability/control and creates lift through wing like structures. It uses a high quality silent electric motor to give the best response to the controller and deliver an exhilarating experience that is completely safe. It integrates a battery management system that prevents ay problem from arising from the battery such as overcharging, overcurrent, excess voltage, deep discharge, short-circuit and overheating.

The design of the eFoil is such that even a beginner can safely experience ‘flying over water’. The years and years of experience designing hydrofoils of the people at eFoil was put to good use in designing this amazing flying surfboard.

LIFT eFOIL SURFBOARD

The actual eFoil is made essentially from lightweight carbon fiber with Kevlar, fiber glass and stainless steel mixed into it. The total weight of the eFoil along with its engine is just 30 pounds or 13.5 kgs.

The motor which is powered by a lithium ion battery that is fully submersible to IP67 standards. The battery gets a full charge in about 2 and a half hours and will take a rider flying over the water at a speed of 15 miles per hour for about one hour.

The eFoil is fully controlled by two handheld Bluetooth devices. This unique flying surfboard has been designed in such a way that even a beginner can use it, and ride the waves with ease.

It will be available to buy in four colors, black, blue, green and purple, at a cost of $12,000 , and is currently available for pre-booking on the Lift website. It is expected to be shipped in September 2017.
