Some of the things you need for tuning your skis
There are many things that are required for a complete tuning job, and to be able to do it well and easily. Here is a list of things that you might need.
Ski Vises is the first thing, and you will get the best ones from the list above. A good pair of ski vises will secure your skis while you sharpen them.
Diamond Stones are needed for repairing skis. Rough-grit stones are used on damaged edge sections, and for general purposes you should use a medium-grit stone.
Gummy stone - The gummy stone sounds like an odd device but it is a very cheap tool for detuning the skis and polishing them.
Files with a file guide - You will need a good fie for setting a bevel and for sharpening edges of the skis. The file guides help in using the file guides.
A wax iron for the skis will help in applying hot wax to the skis and also gives better temperature control.
A wax scraper made from plastic is useful to scrape off wax from the ski bases.
Of course you will need blocks of wax for hot-waxing cycles and other requirements.
